Frederic Bocquet, aka The Punisher, first came in contact with hard music at the young age of 14, when his older brother returned home with a Thunderdome CD. Having already shown a keen interest in electronic music and DJing, the rough sounds were a revelation, creating the foundation for his unfading dedication to Hardcore that drives him today.
In 2004, he teamed up with his close friend to create “The Punisher” project, inspired by the “Never give up” spirit of the main character from the similarly titled movie. With influences from artists such as Tieum and Jappo, their journey down the darker path in Hardcore was set, and it wasn’t long before productions started to take form. In 2008, the pair released a debut album on Swiss label Genetix.
A few years later, due to personal reasons, his friend left the project and Frederic carried on the adventure as a solo artist. His first release with fellow Frenchman, Tieum, dropped on DHM Hate Records in 2010. A few busy years followed with a further 5 releases on labels such as Death Core Nation and Dying Art, before finally leading to a second The Punisher album entitled “Personal Victory” on Altern Hate Records in 2014.
His studio work grabbed the attention of crowds, leading to performances at acclaimed events such as Dominator, Ground Zero, Harmony of Hardcore, The Qontinent and many more. Alongside performing all over Europe, The Punisher has broadcast his sound from the DJ booth of incredible destinations such as Australia, Bogota and Mexico City among others.
On stage, The Punisher is a unique and unforgettable experience, as he works to make sure every show is more exciting than the last. Fireworks, champagne, moshpits, crowd surfing and, of course, the hardest beats imaginable!
